Final Tribute

“As on the one hand it should be remembered that we are boys, and boys at school, so on the other hand we must bear in mind that we form a complete social body…a society, in which, by the nature of the case, we must not only learn, but act and live; and act and live not only as boys, but as boys who will be men.”

The testimony contained in this website celebrates the founding of St. Gregory’s Academy, its pedagogy and the work of its teachers, dorm staff and administration. The great joy of the Academy was in the positive and sometimes profound effect it had on the minds and hearts of the boys in their progression to manhood. It is most fittng that this final tribute to the Academy is given in the voices of the boys themselves, in the music that came to define what it meant to be a “St. Gregory’s boy.”
